MISSION STATEMENT:

To improve the economic vitality of the San Miguel region through a culturally focused tourism event, to provide a venue for not-for-profit fundraising, and to introduce new foods and sounds to our community via the unique heritage of barbeque.

EVENT HISTORY:

In two short years, the Telluride Barbeque Festival has attracted some of the top talent on the competitive BBQ circuit. Set in the mountains of Colorado at an elevation of 9,540 feet, the Telluride Barbeque Festival is the highest elevation KCBS event in the United States. The two day event features authentic barbeque from all over the United States, featured beers from Telluride Brewing Company, and the Hospitality Tent with full bars and HD TV’s.

In 2012, The Telluride Barbeque Festival saw 15 teams compete and, due to the success and positive word of mouth, we will be welcoming close to 30 teams this year!

Johnny Trigg, the “Godfather of BBQ” and one of the most successful pitmasters on the circuit, will be returning to compete with other nationally ranked teams for the title of Grand Champion. Each team will lay it on the line (and on the grill) in the hope of winning the grand prize in each area of competition – Brisket, Ribs, Pork, & Chicken.

We thank everyone for making this event a great success!
